“Pitches Get Stitches” are the Downtown Kickball Champions of the Summer ‘23 Season, after defeating “We Got The Runs” 3-2!
The top two teams battled it out last night to see who would be crowned the champions of downtown kickball and it did not disappoint. “Pitches Get Stitches” had already taken down “We Got The Runs” in their previous matchup during the regular season so they came into the game with a lot of confidence, but “We Got The Runs” were not going down without a fight. The first few innings were a defensive battle with both teams only scoring two runs. It was anyone's game, until “Pitches Get Stitches” scored a run in the 4th inning to give them the lead. “We Got The Runs” kept it close all the way to the end, but “Pitches Get Stitches” defense stayed strong in the last few innings and prevented “We Got The Runs” from scoring another run. “Pitches Get Stitches” incredible teamwork and impressive defense gave them the edge they needed to win the championship 3-2!
