"Kick It & Quit It" is our Downtown division champ, defeating "Sweep the Leg" by the score of 2-1 in a tightly contested championship game.
But to get there our champs had to defeat "Roscoe's Kickin' & Waffles" first. That game, which went to extras, was a 0-0 ball game until "Roscoe's Kickin' & Waffles" broke the seal with a run in the bottom of the 4th.
However, in the top of the 5th, "Kick It & Quit It" scored twice to take the lead. In the bottom half of the inning a clutch home run by "Roscoe's Kickin' & Waffles" would tie the game at 2-2, sending the game to extras.
In extras "Kick It & Quit It" took advantage of the baserunners, scoring 3 in the top half of the inning to take a commanding lead. In the bottom half of the inning they limited "Roscoe's Kickin' & Waffles" to just a run, ending the game with a 5-3 win!
In the championship "Kick It & Quit It" once again started off trailing, this time allowing a run in the top of the first to "Sweep the Leg". But "Kick It & Quit It" tied things up in the bottom of the 2nd inning, then took the lead in the bottom of the 4th with another run. With their 2-1 lead "Kick It & Quit It" tightened down the hatches on defense and closed out the game.
