"The Goonies" are our Division 2 champion, defeating back-to-back playoff opponents behind a high-powered offense. In total they netted 12 goals, six in each of their two games. That included a 6-4 semifinal win to put them in the league final, before winning 6-5 in the title game itself. It was an offensive performance for the ages!
Due to the incredible scoring, "The Goonies" also finish as the division's highest scoring team. In fact, they managed to score six or more goals 6 times this season. That amount of offensive pressure can make it tough for any opponent, and the playoffs were no different.
Thanks to their offense our champs also finished with a +18 point differential, topping the league by....6 goals. That seems to have been their lucky number this season! They also finish the season with a division-leading 8-2 record.
