The "Silver Snakes" are our top Thursday night soccer team, edging out "United" by the score of 3-2 in the championship game. To get there\ they defeated a very strong "HeRe 4 BeEr" squad that was the second best team through the the regular season. Meanwhile, "United" knocked out the juggernaut "Team Iceland" in a huge first round upset.
It was a fantastic season for the "Silver Snakes", finishing with an overall record of 8-2. Their first loss of the season was at the hands of "HeRe 4 BeEr" in a closely contested 3-2 loss, and their other was a 4-1 let down against "Team Iceland". Besides that "Silver Snakes" had a couple of good streaks, starting the season off with back to back wins and stringing another 3 wins together between their two tough losses.
All season defense was their strength. They ended with 4 shutouts and allowed a league low 12 goals. The moniker "defense wins championships" certainly rings true for the "Silver Snakes". Congratulations on the league title!
