True to form, "Team Iceland" has won the league once again! This time around they did hit a small rough patch midseason, but it wasn't enough to derail their championship hopes.
It wasn't their most dominant of seasons, but it was still a strong showing from the perennial top team on Sunday nights. After a couple of early season wins "Team Iceland" struggled in back to back games, scoring just two goals over two games. Those came in the form of a 1-1 draw followed by a 2-1 loss to "Kickballers Again". After the wake-up call they snapped back into gear, however, scoring 5,5, 7, and 4 goals to end the season with their offense running on full cylinders.
In the playoffs "Team Iceland" drew a tough "DTE" squad, but made quick work of them in a 5-0 route. In the championship our champs may have gotten lucky, skipping out on a second date with "Kickballers again" thanks to a 1-0 semifinals win by "Benchwarmers". In the championship game it was all business for "Team Iceland", shutting out their opponent while scoring three goals in the process. Congrats to them on yet another successful season!
