Sweep The Leg Shows No Mercy

Our Spring 2015 Wednesday Kickball Downtown division wrapped up last night as the leagues top 4 teams laced up their cleats and put their best foot forward in friendly competition to determine who would be crowned season champion.

In our first semi-final, top seeded Sweep The Leg put on a dominant display of Kickball fundamentals holding the raucous but over matched Red Rockets scoreless. In our second semi-final perennial contenders Ooooh Kill Em and Sir Kicks a Lot played a close and competitive contest with Sir Kicks a Lot pulling the minor upset and moving on to the finals by a score of 4-2.

In the first inning of the championship game Sir Kicks a Lot started the action with Craig scoring the first run via a bunt from Brian. Sweep the Leg retaliated with their own Craig scoring their first run via Josh kicking it right down the center. The second inning went quickly with no scores from either team. The third inning was looking to be the same until Sweep the Leg broke through. Starting with Kelly making it home thanks to Jeff kicking it to right field, and it didn't stop there. Richard was the next to score as Juan kicked it down the center. Jeff followed shortly with the assist of a sacrifice bunt from Michelle. Finally, Carly made it in with a kick from Craig down the line towards 3rd.

The 4th inning went very fast for both teams. In the fifth Sir Kicks a Lot quickly racked up 2 outs when Bianca bunted the ball and with the assist from an error from Sweep the Leg, Brian and Craig each scored narrowing the score to 4-3. Sweep the Leg added another run in their next at bats and held on for the 5-3 win.

Congratulations to Sweep the Leg and to all of the teams that competed in a great kickball season.

#skwaaaa Blows the Competition Away

Our Spring 2015 Wednesday Kickball Midtown division wrapped up last night with a coronation of #Skwaaaa as our league champion.

#Skwaaaaa walked through regular season play with a 53 point differential and only one loss to I'm All About That Base. The playoffs were no different. In the semi-finals they faced 4th seed The Big Green. The game was decided in the 3rd inning when #Skwaaaa had a big inning, scoring 4 runs. The Big Green played them tough the rest of the game but eventually lost 7-1.

Meanwhile in the second semi-final Team E just edged out I'm All About that Base 2-1, locking in their spot in the Championship game against #Skwaaaa.

#Skwaaa started off big and didn't let up, knocking home 3 runs in the first. Team E answered back with 1 run. But #Skwaaaa's lock down defense, lead by Team Captain Markas Santos at Short Stop, was out in full effect shutting down Team E on multiple scoring situations. That paired with their unrelenting offense proved to be too much for Team E. Team E showed a spark in the 4th inning when Jasmine Williams knocked a 2 run RBI down the third baseline. But it wasn't enough, #Skwaaaa went on to win 13-3 capping a near flawless season.

Congratulations to #Skwaaaa and to all teams that participated in the Spring '15 season of Outdoor Kickball!

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
