“The Hit Squad” are the Friday Downtown Softball Champions of the Summer ‘24 season, after defeating “Swamp Donkeys” 4-2!
It was the playoffs for Friday softball last night and it did not disappoint! Both “The Hit Squad” and “Swamp Donkeys” were one of the favorites to make it to the championship so everyone was expecting an offensive explosion, but the championship turned out to be a defensive battle for most of the game. “The Hit Squad” jumped out to an early lead with some incredible base running and timely hitting to start off the championship. “The Hit Squad” were oozing with confidence after their offensive explosion in the first few innings, but “Swamp Donkeys” were ready for the challenge and were not afraid of an uphill battle. “Swamp Donkeys” were able to score a couple runs of their own but “The Hit Squad’s” All Star defense prevented “Swamp Donkeys” from being able to start any kind of a comeback. “Swamp Donkeys” played their hearts out but they could not stop the “The Hit Squad” powerful offense or get anything past the “The Hit Squad’s” impressive defense. “The Hit Squad” prevented “Swamp Donkeys” from scoring any more runs in the last inning and won the championship 4-2!

It was the playoffs for Friday softball last night and it did not disappoint! Both “Wolf Pack” and “Blue Mountain Bombers” have an impressive offense, so everyone was ready for the fireworks and that’s exactly what they got. “Wolf Pack” took an early lead in the championship with some impressive hits, great base running and brilliant coaching. “Wolf Pack” was oozing with confidence after their offensive explosion in the first, but “Blue Mountain Bombers” were ready for the challenge and were not afraid of an uphill battle. “Blue Mountain Bombers” were able to score a few runs of their own and played their hearts out, but they could not stop the “Wolf Pack’s” powerful offense. “Wolf Pack” went on to win the championship 13-4 and proved they’re the best team in their division!
