Our Fall 2014 Thursday Dodgeball season came to an exciting conclusion last night as perennial contenders "Bats With Boobs" got over the hump to bring home a well deserved title in dramatic fashion.
It took every ounce of stamina, strategy and skill that Bats With Boobs possessed to claim the title on a night when every game on the playoff slate was a hard fought and low scoring contest. It was only fitting that their opponent in the championship game was powerhouse "Dodgeaholics", and that the game was decided in an exciting overtime with both teams struggling to fight fatigue as well as each other.
Both teams had grueling brackets to get through to the championship game. "Dodgeaholics" edged out "Gotta Catch 'Em All" before taking on the leagues top team, "Govt Cheese". In a close contest they out lasted GC to reach the championship game.
"Bats with Boobs" took it to "Balls Deep", controlling the game from the start before playing "My Balls Your Face" the number 2 seeded team. "My Balls Your Face" jumped out ahead, but "Bats" battled back and finally won a decisive game to earn their spot in the championship game.
The championship game was spectacular, as both teams let it all hang out. "Dodgeaholics" had the lead late but "Bats" were able to tie the game as the clock expired. In extra time both teams had 3 players each on the court and the game could have gone to either team. "Bats" were a little more accurate and organized and we're able to eliminate "Dodgeaholics" first and claimed their first championship, 4 to 3.
Congratulations to Bats With Boobs and to all the teams that competed in a great dodgeball season.
