“Spartans” are the Monday Rec. Basketball Champions of the Late Spring ‘24 Season, after defeating “Free Agents” 2-0!
It was the playoffs for Monday basketball last night and it didn’t disappoint. “Spartans” and the “Free Agents” met in the championship and no one knew who was going to walk away as the champions of Monday Basketball. “Spartans” came out on fire in the first game. They couldn’t miss a shot and they dominated on the defensive end. Their defense didn’t allow the “Free Agents” offense to get anything going for most of the first game. With a few minutes left, the “Free Agents” offense started to heat up but it was too late. “Spartans” made two impressive shots back to back and won the first game 21-18.
“Spartans” started game two with the same energy by playing smart basketball on the offensive end and suffocating their opponent with their defense. Their scoring ability was almost effortless and it was incredible to watch. However, “Free Agents” kept it close by playing great defense and not allowing “Spartans” to score any points for a few minutes. “Spartans” started to find a groove and score a few buckets back to back which gave them a little bit of a cushion, but “Free Agents” found a rhythm of their own at the midway point of the second game which kept it competitive until the end. Both teams played their hearts out and it looked like “Free Agents” were going to force a third and final game, but “Spartans” had the championship in their sights and no one was going to stop them. “Spartans” made one final three and won the game 21-17!

“Team C” are the Monday Comp. Basketball Champions of the Late Spring ‘24 after defeating “DaHowies” 2-1!
It was the playoffs for Monday Basketball last night and it did not disappoint! “Team C” and “DaHowies’” made it to the championship and it was a match to remember! The championship started off with “DaHowies” scoring the first point of the match. “Team C” came right back and immediately made a three pointer to tie it up, but “DaHowies” kept making three after three and won the first game 21-17. After losing the first game, “Team C” turned up the heat and took a commanding lead early in game two. It looked like “Team C” were going to easily win the game but “DaHowies” weren't going down without a fight. “DaHowies” kept it close until the very end but “Team C” came out on top and won the second game 21-18 and forced a third and final match. The championship deciding game started out as a nail biter with both teams matching each other point for point. It looked like the championship would come down to the final shot of the game but “Team C” started to make great play after great play by playing smart basketball. “DaHowies” played their hearts out and kept it competitive all the way until the end but “Team C” proved that they’re the best team in the league by winning the third game 21-15 and becoming the champions of Monday Basketball!
