“Team” emerged as the champions of the Women’s Intermediate Volleyball league for the Winter '24 season, triumphing over a fierce opponent, "Hakuna MaTATAs," with a decisive 2-0 victory!
Entering the playoffs as the #1 seed with an almost flawless record, “Team” faced a formidable challenge from the hungry contenders, “Hakuna MaTATAs.” The championship showdown began with an impressive four-point lead by “Hakuna MaTATAs,” signaling their intent to continue their dominant streak from the semifinals. However, everything changed once “Team” was on the attack, securing their first point. “Team” used bump, set and spike to perfection, orchestrated a remarkable comeback, scoring seven consecutive points to seize control. Once in the lead, they never relinquished their advantage, dominating the first game with a convincing 21-15 score.
As the momentum carried into the second game, “Hakuna MaTATAs” played very well and showed off their power at the net, but “Team” was too hot to handle. The second game came down to the wire, “Team” was leading 19-13 but “Hakuna MaTATAs” made the comeback and tied it up 19-19. “Team” was able to squeak by and win 21-19 to claim the championship!
