"Smokin' Aces" is our latest Thursday night champion, taking down "Just the Tip" in 3 sets. Our champions started off hot in the 1st round of the playoffs, knocking off the #1 team from the regular season "Team A 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸" in straight sets. That included quite the statement in game 2, where they won 21-11, leaving no doubt that these 'Aces' meant business.
By the time the championship game came around they were firing on all cylinders. "Smokin' Aces" won the first set handily at 21-14, though "Just the Tip" clawed their way back into the match winning the 2nd set 22-20. However, our champs were able to wrestle control of the match in the title-deciding third set by winning 21-15.
All season the "Smokin' Aces" knew they had a shot at the title, despite their #4 seed in the playoffs and sneaking into the playoffs. If it hadn't been for a win over "Team A 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸" in the last week of the regular season, then it would be an entirely different team on the podium. That wasn't the case though, as "Smokin' Aces" brought their best when it mattered most. Thanks to that, they are the league champions. Congratulations to "Smokin' Aces" on an incredible season!
