Perfection!

"Sweep the Leg" is the latest Downtown Division champion following a pair of wins in last night's playoffs.

Their first game of the night was against the #4 "Side Sac". As expected "Sweep the Leg" took care of business notching a 6-1 win, though the game did remain tight before they broke things open with a 4-run 5th inning.

With their spot locked up for the championship game "Sweep the Leg" awaited their opponent. While they had hoped for a rematch with "I'm Kick James, Pitch!" to avenge an early season loss, it was "We Got the Runs" who prevailed with a 5-4 win. It didn't matter too much though, as "Sweep the Leg" had some unfinished business with them as well regarding an early playoff exit to this very team earlier this spring.

In the championship game it was defense that made the difference. "Sweep the Leg" got on the board early with a run in the first and two more in the third inning, all the while maintaining the shutout. Eventually they'd push it to a 5-0 lead after five innings. "We Got the Runs" didn't go down without a fight and picked up two runs in the sixth, but they weren't able to get any farther than that. In the end it was a 5-2 win for "Sweep the Leg".

Congratulations to "Sweep the Leg" on another successful season and getting back to the top of the podium!

Rockin' Out

"Rock Out With Our Balls Out" is our Midtown Division champion, finishing with a perfect 10-0 record! This band of indy players got off to a great start and never looked back, picking up win after win after win.

Much like the other division champs, their forte was defense, and it's often a sign of a great team. In fact, the most runs they allowed all season was 5, coming in their first game of the season.

In their first playoff game last night they took on "Unspaghettible", holding them to just 1 run en route to 3-1 victory. Their defense was great, and a couple of timely kicks led to their 3 runs. After the win, they awaited their championship game opponent.

That 2 vs 3 match up was between "One Kick Wonders" and "All About the Batmans". That game remained a close one until "One Kick Wonders" broke out on offense in the top of the last inning, scoring 4 insurance runs to add onto their 2-1 lead. That 6-1 scoreline would eventually be the final score.

In the championship game "Rock Out With Our Balls Out" once again showed their defensive prowess, holding "One Kick Wonders" to two runs. Offensively they'd tally 5 of their own, more than enough with the way their defense had been playing all season. In the end, it was a 5-2 finals win.

Congratulations to "Rock Out With Our Balls Out" on achieving perfection, and we hope to see them again next season!

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
