"Control Your Hole" is our Wednesday Cornhole champion, finishing with an unbeaten 9-0-1 record on the season, including playoffs. They also racked up an impressive +27 point differential, 10 better than their second place counterpart.
From the beginning "Control Your Hole" was the team to beat after getting off to an impressive start. They picked up three straight wins against eventual playoff opponents, with an overall score of 10-2 in those games. After that, everyone in the league was on notice.
In the playoffs "Control Your Hole" was just as good. They took down "Shut Your Cornhole", hot off a 3-1 first round win, with a 3-1 win of their own, putting them into the finals. In the other half of the bracket the #6 seed "Big Bag Theory" pulled off the upset against #3 "Shucking Amazing" by the score of 3-1 before being taken out by the eventual runner up "D bagz" by the same score in the semifinals.
It was a battle of heavy weights as the highly anticipated championship round began with two time consecutive champions D-Bagz squaring off against new comers Control Your Hole. Both teams entered the championship round with identical records on the season. Control your hole took a commanding 2-0 lead to start the championship series. It looked as though D-Bagz would make a comeback after sinking some seemingly impossible shots, but in the end Control Your Hole dethroned the defending champions in 3 games. An impressive win by them, capping off an impressive season overall.
Congrats to new champoions, "Control Your Hole", on the great season, and we wish them luck on the repeat next season!
