"Plan B" is our Tuesday Night Soccer League champion following a nail-biting night waiting for a final result to determine the champion.
With their games finished before the final night of games, they were stuck playing the waiting game. Their 3-0 loss to "Raptors FC" in their final game last week meant they didn't know if they'd be the league winners. Instead their fate lie in the hands of an 0-6-1 "Gang Green" squad.
All "Raptors FC" had to do was pick up a draw and the championship was theirs, but unfortunately for them that didn't happen. "Gang Green" saved their best for last and was able to scratch and claw their way to their only win of the season thanks to a goal in the 46th minute. Because to that goal, "Plan B" was able to hang onto first place and end up the league champion.
Throughout the season "Plan B" sat at the top of the league table thanks to their fantastic play. Week after week they would pick up wins, with just a lone draw sprinkled in against "Raptors FC" in week 2 and a loss to them in their final game. They had a good stride of games near the end of the season as well, picking up a 4-1 win, a 5-0 win, and a 5-1 win in successive games. Despite the loss in the final week their overall record of 6-1-1, for a total of 13 points, meant they were the champions.
Congrats to "Plan B" on their championship and we can't wait to see if they are able to defend their title next season!
