"Kick It & Quit It" is our Sunday Kickball league champion! They showed that defense truly does win championships after allowing a total of ZERO runs in their two playoff games.
In their first game of the night "Kick It & Quit It" battled "New Kicks on the Block" in our 2 vs 3 match-up. Unfortunately for "New Kicks on the Block" they proved to be no match for their opponent as our eventual champions would win by the final score of 7-0 in a fantastic defensive display that would carry over to their next game.
On the other field "Ballbarians" took on an undermanned "Saved By the Ball". "Saved by the Ball" tried with all their might to win, but being short on players they were unable to beat the "Ballbarians", who won handily 12-4.
In the championship game both the "Ballbarians" and "Kick It & Quit It" came with full teams, ready to take home the title after strong wins in their first games. The game proved to be a highly defensive game with no score through the first 3 innings. In the fourth inning, however, "Kick It & Quit It" scored three runs to take the lead. "Ballbarians" were unable to rally back, and while they continued to play a strong defensive game, they were unable to score any runs themselves. "Kick It & Quit It" solidified their win with a fourth insurance run in the fifth inning to help put the final nail in the coffin.
