"Soft Balls" Win Championship Thanks to Hot Bats

"Soft Balls, Hard Bats" is our Friday Softball League champion after knocking off two higher seeded teams in the playoffs.

Their first game of the night was against their season rival and #2 seed "Alcoballics." The teams split their season series 1-1.

This game was all about offense with both teams getting on base easily and not much in the way of outstanding defense. "Soft Balls, Hard Bats" was about to muster just one more run than their rival though, giving them the 9-8 win and a spot in the final.

That matchup was the polar opposite of the game on the other side of the bracket as the top team in the league, "Sons of Pitches", won 2-0 in a pitcher's duel. The only runs in that game came off a two-run homer, with their defense taking care of everything else.

In the championship game the offensive explosion for "Soft Balls, Hard Bats" continued. They picked up 10 runs as once again their opponent's defense was helpless to stop them. On the other side of things "Sons of Pitches" couldn't quite keep up with the hot bats for "Soft Balls, Hard Bats" leading to a 10-5 championship win.

Congrats to "Soft Balls, Hard Bats" for a great championship run, proving that all you have to do is get into the playoffs, and anything can happen from there!

How are Standings Calculated?
Winners receive 2 points, each team in a tie receives 1 point, and losers receive 0 points. If you forfeit, you lose a point, so don't forfeit! Plus, two forfeits make your team ineligible for playoffs.

Teams are ranked by (1) Ranking Points, (2) Head to Head Two Teams Only*, (3) Point Differential, (4) Coin Toss.

Head to Head is only used if there are two teams tied. Ties involving 3+ teams disregard H2H and move on to point differential for the tiebreaker.
º Forfeits
Parenthesized numbers indicate wins or losses by forfeit.
When calculating Ranking Points, forfeits may be weighted differently than normal wins and losses.
