'Sweep the Leg' displayed pure defensive dominance throughout the season in and it showed once again in the playoffs. They did not allow a single run all night and in the end were crowned champions of the Downtown Division.
Their first game of the night came against '4th Base' in what would turn out to be a pitcher's duel.
'Sweep the Leg' got off to a great start in the bottom of the first inning by picking up a run to take a 1-0 lead. Defense was the name of the game for both teams though as neither offense could get much going. Eventually 'Sweep the Leg' would pick up a second run to push their lead to 2-0.
The best play of the game came as '4th Base' kicked a deep blast to right-center field that looked to be a possible home run. But, the fielder for 'Sweep the Leg' made a Willie Mays-esque catch deep in the outfield to help put the game away.
In the championship game it was '#Skwaaaa' vs the top-seeded 'Sweep the Leg' for all the marbles. The game was a rematch of a tightly contested battle between the two squads earlier in the season where 'Sweep the Leg' pulled off a 1-0 victory.
This was another low-scoring affair with 'Sweep the Leg' continuing their theme of perfect defense. Even when '#Skwaaaa' loaded the bases in the 5th inning they couldn't get enough offense going to bring their runners in to score.
Just like their first game of the night 'Sweep the Leg' got off to a good start with an early run to put them ahead early. They would continue to build their lead to 3-0 by picking up scattered runs in the 3rd and 5th innings.
Eventually it would be 'Sweep the Leg' who took home the championship by the final of 3-0, capping off their perfect season with a perfect win.

'Fireballz" had a great run to a championship last night winning their two games by just one run each.
Their first game of the night against 'Resus' saw 'Fireballz' take an early 1-0 lead, getting them off on the right foot. They would add two more runs to push their lead to 3-0, leaving 'Resus' in a bit of a hole.
But, 'Resus' would not go down without a fight and were able to muster two runs in the final inning. It still wasn't enough, however, as a great catch in the outfield by 'Fireballz' helped seal the deal.
In the championship game 'Fireballz' faced off against 'The D'.
The game started off with a bang as both teams scored in the first inning while trying to impose their will on the game, though it was 'The D' who held a 2-1 lead heading into the second inning.
In the second inning 'Fireballz' added two more runs to take their first lead of the game, 3-2. However, 'The D' answered right back in the 3rd inning with a run of their own to tie the game at 3 apiece.
Things stayed tight and it set us up for a thrilling finish in the final inning as 'The D' stepped up to the plate in the top of the inning down 4-3.
'The D' refused to go down easily and got runners on the bases to put the pressure on the 'Fireballz' defense. Then, a perfectly executed bunt eventually saw their runner on 2nd base score to tie the game at 4-4.
In the bottom of the inning 'Fireballz' remained calm and confident in their ability. Eventually they would load the bases.
With two outs there was a grounder kicked to the first baseman for 'The D' who had a tough decision, but ultimately decided to throw home to get the force out. His throw was not perfect and it made it hard for his catcher to make a clean catch just as the runner from 3rd base came flying in to touch home for 'Fireballz' ending the game in walk-off fashion to cap off a fantastic season for them.
