Cornhole - Thursdays (Late Summer '15)

Our Thursday night Late Summer Cornhole league at Yolo came down to two teams: Shucking Amazing, who has been playing at Yolo for almost a year, and Bags of Fury, a team of 6 gentlemen who came -- with matching shirts and a trophy -- to prove they were the best! The enthusiasm from both teams was palpable, and both brought a cheering section to root them to victory!

In the first game, Todd and John-David from Shucking Amazing faced off against Casey and Matt from Bags of Fury. Shucking made quick work with bags in the hole, and after a couple rounds was leading 11-0. Fury struck back bringing it 14-2, as they gathered some bags on the board! Fury started to heat up, canceling out Shucking's bags and using "bag backboards" to slide in. At the end of the first game, Shucking nailed the hole taking the first win.

The second game saw Leticia and Jesse face off against Aaron and Sean. Jesse sinks first bag no problem and gets the rest on the board, no cancels. Leticia also sank her first bag with one on the board, bringing the score to 10-0 Shucking. Aaron and Sean fought valiantly, but every one of their bags was cancelled by Jesse and Leticia, with extras in the hole each round. The final score of the 2nd game was 21-1, Shucking leads 2-0!

The third game brought Todd and John-David back up to face off against Fury's last two players, Randy and Josh. Although Fury held their own with bags on the board, Todd started the round with three in the hole thanks to bag backboards -- 9-3 Shucking. Josh did quick work with canceling Todd's bags in the hole, but Todd was relentless making 2 or 3 each round to Josh's 1. John-David apologized to Todd for his "rough night" although he was equally on fire with his cancellations! The final nail was Todd sliding his bag in, then bouncing the final winning bag. Shucking not only won all three games in the Finals -- they didn't lose a single match ALL SEASON! What a way to end their nights at Yolo on Thursdays! The next time you see this team, they'll be facing off against Wednesday Cornholers! Thanks to everyone who participated!
