We wrapped up our winter intermediate volleyball league tonight, with some amazing rallies, fierce hits, and amazing digs.
The night started with the #4 seed, White Chocolate Dragons, taking on the #1 seed "Get It Up". The Dragons took a commanding lead, and looked to run away with the first game before the top seed battled back to tie the game at 17 all. White Chocolate Dragons regrouped and pulled out an impressive 21-18 victory. The second game was much closer, as Get It Up found their groove. Trading leads all game long, White pulled ahead near the end to a game point 20-17 score. Get It Up was resilient, forcing multiple game points and knotting the score at 22-22, with a deciding point on the line. Unfortunately for the top seed, White Chocolate Dragons won the last point of the match, winning 23-22 and moving on to the championship round.
Our other semi-final match featured the #2 seed, Fock Yeah, versus the #3 seed, D Force. Fock Yeah won the match with relative ease, with D Force battling hard in the first game before giving way in the 2nd.
The championship game featured rallies that went on for days, with both teams making miraculous plays to extend the point and give their team hope. Fock Yeah won most of the rallies in game 1, winning handily, but game two was a different story. White Chocolate Dragons flipped the script in game two, and with a commanding win, forced a deciding final game to decide our champion.
The last game didn't disappoint, as both teams traded points the entire way. With the score tied at 19, Fock Yeah sealed the victory with the final two points to win their championship.
Congratulations to Fock Yeah on a great playoff run, and to all our playoff teams on a fantastic night of play!
