Softball - Thursdays (Summer '23)

“Benchwarmers” are the Thursday Softball Champions of the Summer ‘23 season, after defeating “Ball of Duty” 9-8!

“Benchwarmers” entered the playoffs as the heavy favorite to win the championship. They were the #1 seed and it looked like no one would be able to stop them, but “Ball of Duty” was not going down without a fight. The “Benchwarmers” tied “Ball of Duty” in their previous matchup during the regular season, so “Ball of Duty” was ready to exact their revenge. The game started out with the “Benchwarmers” scoring a couple runs in the first two innings and taking the lead early in the championship. “Ball of Duty” came right back in the second inning and took a one run lead after some great hits and impressive base running. Each team had the lead at one point during the championship and no one knew who was going to win. “Ball of Duty” ended up having the lead in the last two innings so it was time for the “Benchwarmers” offense to shine. The game was tied at 8-8 and The Benchwarmers had one final chance to win the championship. The bases were loaded and one of “Benchwarmers” star players, Alexis, came up to the plate with the chance to win it all for her team. She hit an absolute missile at “Ball of Duties” shortstop and scored her husband from third to win the championship. “Ball of Duty” played their hearts out, but the “Benchwarmers” were just too hot to handle.

Congratulations to “Benchwarmers” on becoming the Thursday Softball Champions for the eighth season in row. Let's see if they can make it nine in a row next season!
