“Nasty Ashleys” are the Tuesday Softball Champions of the Late Spring ‘21 season, after defeating “Mariani Nuts” 11-4!
“Nasty Ashleys entered the playoffs as the #1 seed and as one of the favorites to win the championship. They had to first defeat the “Hot Tamales”, which were a very formidable opponent, in the semi-finals. The teams traded runs back and forth keeping the game tied for 3 innings. The “Nasty Ashleys'' were able to take the lead and never looked back. They defeated the “Hot Tamales” 10-6, and advanced to the finals to take on the “Mariani Nuts”.
In the championship game the “Nasty Ashleys” took on the second seed “Mariani Nuts”. “Mariani Nuts” were the second favorite team to make it to the championship, so the “Nasty Ashleys” knew they had to bring their A game! “The Nasty Ashleys” put up 4 runs in the first inning and held that edge for the whole game. They escaped several bases loaded situations with their tight defense, and held on to win the championship with a final score of 11-4!
Congratulations to “Nasty Ashleys” on becoming the Tuesday Softball Champions and winners of $50 to Streets Pub and Grub!
