Kickball - Wednesdays (Spring '19)

It was a rough night in the Downtown division for our top seeds, both of whom were toppled in round one. But that was okay with our remaining championship hopefuls. It was especially rough for "Ball Kickers", who were trounced by the "Kick-taters" 11-2!

Late into the championship game "Kick-taters" were down, with very little going on offensively. At that point "What What in the Bunt" seemed to have the game in the bag, heading into the 5th inning with a 2-0 lead. However, in the bottom of the 5th "Kick-taters" flipped the switch and rallied back to score 4 huge runs to take a 4-2 lead. In the top of the sixth their defense closed it out thanks to a double play followed by a routine fly ball to end the game.

Overall the "Kick-taters" finish with a 6-1-3 record. Their lone loss came in the final week of the season. However, our champs got the last laugh there, avenging that 7-5 loss with an 11-2 win in round one of the playoffs.

Other than that their record was nearly flawless. In fact one of the ties, a 0-0 pitcher's duel, was against their championship game opponent "What What in the Bunt". As expected, the league final was another low scoring game. But the "Kick-taters" were able to break through when it mattered most!
