"The Giuseppes" are our latest Bocce Ball champions, climbing their way from a lower seed in the bracket to the top! Both their playoff games were incredible close, but each time they came through in the clutch to be crowned league champion.
It was an inconsistent season for "The Giuseppes", who finished league play with a 2-4 record. That includes a 3-game losing streak before the playoffs. However, they proved earlier in the season they were capable of stringing wins together, which is what they'd need to win this championship.
In the first round our champs won a hard-fought game over "Ballsy Women", taking them down 15-13 in a bit of an upset. On the other side of the bracket there was an even bigger upset, as the #4 team "BCFU" took down the championship favorite "The Deep Vs" by the identical score of 15-13. Thanks to the 2 wins, we were set up for an improbable championship game between the two lower seeds.
Much like our two first round games the championship was also a nail-biting affair. Eventually "The Giuseppes" pulled away at the end of the game though, knocking out "GCFU" by the score of 15-12.
Congratulations to them on a fantastic playoff run!
