The "Pussycat Balls" are our Midtown Division champions after a great win in the championship game. They entered the night as the top seed in their division, so they had the bye straight to the championship game.
The night started off in the Midtown Division with a game between #2 "Team C" and #3 "Portal Kombat." "Team C" scored an early 2 runs and kept Portal Kombat at bay. But, a surge of kicking fury soon caught on for "Portal Kombat" and they kicked their way to a final score of 6-2 over "Team C!"
The win meant "Portal Kombat" would meet the #1 seed "Pussycat Balls" for the championship game. It would be a rematch of a tightly contested 1-0 game where "Pussycat Balls" won just the week before.
As we thought it a defensive game for the first 3 innings as the game remained scoreless. Eventually the "Pussycat Balls" started to power their base runners to home as they slowly built a lead of 7-0. "Portal Kombat" had a chance to rally in the last inning scoring twice, but it wasn't enough to beat the champions of the Tuesday kickball league, "Pussycat Balls."
Congrats to "Pussycat Balls" on a great season and we can't wait to see if they are able to defend their title this upcoming season!
